Join Our Team as a Disability Support Worker – Chiltern, Corowa and Rutherglen

SupportedPlus, an NDIS-registered disability service is looking for dedicated Disability Support Workers to provide personal, community, and in-home care in Chiltern and surrounding areas.

 

How We Work
At SupportedPlus, our Disability Support Workers play a vital role in ensuring the health, safety, and empowerment of participants. We provide person-centred support that respects individual choices, promotes dignity, and encourages independence.

Our participants range from 17 years and older and may have various support needs, including:
Physical mobility challenges
Neurological conditions
Cognitive, intellectual, or psycho-social disabilities
Autism spectrum disorders, Asperger syndrome, and Down syndrome
Acquired brain injuries and mental health conditions

Support is provided flexibly across different hours and days, tailored to each participant’s needs. Services may include:

✅ Mentoring & life skills development
✅ Social, community & civic participation
✅ Health & well-being programs
✅ Transport & supported holidays
✅ Recreational & group-based activities

This is a casual position, reporting to the Director at SupportedPlus.

 

About You – Core Competencies

As a Support Worker, you will assist individuals in working towards their life goals, providing guidance with daily routines, social engagement, and personal care when required.

✔ Are self-aware, with the ability to recognize and manage their own emotions while understanding the feelings of others.
✔ Respect ethical beliefs and diversity, valuing individual cultures and personal values.
✔ Remain calm and composed in challenging situations.
✔ Are open to continuous learning, actively participating in regular training to enhance knowledge and skills.
✔ Prioritize participants’ well-being, ensuring that their needs and interests drive decision-making for the best possible outcomes.

 

About the Role
As a Disability Support Worker, you will:
✅ Support individuals in achieving their life goals and independence.
✅ Provide assistance with daily living, personal care, social participation, and life skills.
✅ Encourage and empower participants while respecting their privacy, dignity, and choices.
✅ Work flexibly across various hours and days and occasional weekend.

This is a casual position reporting to the Director at SupportedPlus.

 

About You
We are seeking individuals who:
Have experience supporting people with disabilities.
Are compassionate, patient, and committed to person-centred care.
Can work independently and build trusted relationships.
Are adaptable, organized, and culturally aware.

 

Essential Requirements
Cert IV in Disability, Community Services, Mental Health, or Cert III in Personal Care
Strong communication and confidentiality skills
NDIS Worker Screening Check (or in progress)
Valid Driver’s Licence & reliable vehicle
COVID Vaccination Certificate
Current First Aid & CPR Certificate (or willingness to obtain)

 

Desirable
Experience in personal care, nursing, or mental health support
Background in aged care or mentoring others in life skills
